The Bachelor Program in Japanese focuses on Japanese language and cultural competence. This program educates students to be able to communicate using Japanese actively and passively. The lecture system in this department is not intended to produce writers, but graduates who have scientific competence in Japanese language and culture.
Academic Activities
The Bachelor Program in Japanese has a concentration area of Japanese language and culture. There are special courses specifically to support competencies, namely:
- Japanese Literature
- Japanese for Business
- Japanese Culinary
- Japanese Film Analysis
Lecture activities are carried out not only in the form of lectures in class, but also in the form of drama performances, practicing cooking and serving various Japanese dishes, and watching and discussing Japanese films to support understanding of Japanese culture.
Students have the opportunity to study Japanese language and culture directly in Japan, with several special programs, namely study tours and student exchanges at several partnered universities in Japan.

Graduates of this program have strong language competence and knowledge of Japanese culture, which are needed especially in the fields of business and teaching Japanese. Graduates can have careers as:
